Idaho is home to a vast collection of lakes, trails, camping, fishing, and hiking adventure opportunities. We are native Idahoans, but even after a lifetime of living here, we have yet to explore all this incredible state has to offer the outdoor enthusiast.
We are a couple made up of a daughter of a pro guide fisherman, who was raised constantly being toted around to some new campground or fishing spot by her father, and a man with an insatiable need for exploring new places and a slight adrenaline junkie. Whether traveling far or staying close to our Boise area home, there is never a shortage of a new adventure to explore in Idaho! Seasoned or inexperienced, young or aged to perfection, bringing the whole family or adventuring alone, Idaho never disappoints!
Here are some of our favorite places to hike, bike, off road, swim, fish and camp! You can also use this site that has all of Idaho’s trails in one place. (Please be aware that some places you are traveling will not have cell phone coverage, be prepared and download maps before you go)! https://trails.idaho.gov/
This is a great OHV day trip. Murphy is full of off-road trails for all different skill levels. Travel into Silver City and go back in time exploring this old mining town. Above Silver City are some more advanced OHV trails.
Just a half hour/ 45 minute drive from Boise, this is a beautiful reservoir for boating, jet skis, paddleboarding, fishing and swimming.
Also just a short drive from Boise, this wildlife preserve is a great spot for a day trip. Less crowded than Lucky Peak it’s great for a day on the boat or personal water craft.
